man with cat

Well, here at Princeton studying. Outside my window is a short lawn, with a beautiful graveyard across the street. Occasionally people walk by to go the graveyard entrance, which is just next to my house, so I get to do at least a small amount of people watching outside my window.

My window is small, the view narrow, so I took note when a woman walked into view, paused and turned as if waiting for something. She stood like that for a long time, and I kept peering out to see what she was looking at, but finally she turned and continued on her way. A couple seconds later, the cutest little kid I have ever seen walking, I mean, this little one couldn't have been more than 18 inches high, tottered past the opening in the hedge. I hadn't been able to see her because she was actually shorter than the low hedge, and had taken a whole minute to traverse the twenty feet of view out my window. It was the funniest and cutest thing I've seen all day!

Just now, one of the funniest characters so far this year rode by at high speeds on a bike. What was remarkable about this man, other than a large floppy cap tilted back on his head, was a large white CAT perched on his shoulders! My window has the wide angle view of early digital cameras, so I was only able to see the man and the cat for about 1.5 seconds, and then they were gone! I can't believe it. I'm laughing. Did that just happen?
